Installing Vehicle Tracking System Openly or Covertly? |
To Do it Openly or Covertly?
When businesses decide to invest in vehicle tracking there is often the decision to make whether they would want vehicle tracking installed or covertly or not.
Catching Them All When you Do it Covertly
There are advantages and disadvantages to both approaches. If you have a tracking system installed covertly so that none or very few of the staff knows about the installation then you are more likely to catch staff out at their bad habits. This can include speeding, bad driving in general, skiving off work and even stealing. Unless you install the vehicle tracking system covertly then you are not going to catch these people out.
Deterrence is #1 Factor For "Open" Installation
Most companies are open about having the vehicle tracking installed in the fleet of vehicles. It is easier for starters. For some companies it may be very hard to install tracking in each vehicle without the drivers knowing. Also even if they found a way of doing it, it would still be a pain in the neck to do. By being open about tracking you may not catch people out, but instead you deter the staff from driving too fast or skiving off as they know they are being watched. In many cases it is probably best to put an end to bad habits rather than catch people out and then being in a situation where you need to reprimand them.
Decision is Yours. Open or Covert.
