Question: My GPS doesnt show me where I am and i have checked and found that it is not receiving signals at all. Please advise?

Answer: Firstly GPS does not work in indoor, it will only receives satellite signals when it is exposed to open skies. Secondly, the gps will take a longer time to get a "fix" when the car is moving compared to when it is on stationary. Thirdly, your gps will get a slower "fix" in places where there are tall buildings around you due to signal reflection from these buildings. Forthly, one will get a faster "fix" when one uses gps daily compared to one that uses monthly. Last but not least, the gps gets slower "fix" inside the car when the car is installed with protective window flim ie. VKOOL compared to one that doesnt as the  window film reduces the satellite signal strength.

Question: I have a nokia phone navigator. Can you advise why should i buy a portable dedicated gps car navigator?

Answer: The primary usage of a phone is for calling and not for navigation. This means that the phone's CPU(or we call the "brain") will dedicate most of its memory and speed to enhance the phone quality and NOT navigation. Since there is only single CPU with fixed memory and speed, navigation application will NOT get priority from the "brain". In another words, your navigation is compromised. On the other hand, a dedicated GPS navigator's main function is navigation, the CPU within the device will ensure optimal speed and memory for your navigation. You will get faster "fix", uninterruped signals, a bigger screen and louder voice prompts from the dedicated gps device.
